The Australian union has announced that some workers will begin a strike at Woodside's LNG facilities

The Offshore Alliance workers' union announced on Friday that some workers at Woodside Energy’s?Karratha liquefied natural gas /plant in Western Australia and its?Pluto gas?plant in Western Australia would begin striking action as of Wednesday.

Offshore Alliance is a grouping of Australian?Workers Union' and Maritime Union of Australia. It said that it had informed contractor UGL, on Tuesday, of its intention to take?Protected Industrial Action(PIA) next week in a dispute?over wages?and conditions.

The contractor was accused of using third-party workers to reduce wages.

The union group organised previous strike votes at Woodside Pluto 2 against contractor Bechtel.

Separately, the Offshore Alliance ?said on Wednesday talks with Inpex, moderated ?by ?the Fair Work Commission, had failed to resolve issues, and members ?had voted to serve ?a strike notice at the 8.9-million-metric-tons-a-year Ichthys LNG facility in Darwin ?at the end of ?negotiations on Friday.
