Russia extends the ban on diesel and gasoline exports until January 2027

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Russian government announced that it had extended its bans on diesel and gasoline exports until January 31, 2027.

The ban was initially implemented by Russia from July 8 until July 31, as part of an overall package of measures designed to help support the domestic fuel market following repeated Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries that caused fuel shortages and spikes in prices.

Moscow has already placed restrictions on the export of jet fuel and gasoline.

The government announced on Thursday that it was temporarily banning exports of gasoline, diesel, marine fuel, and gas oil to maintain the stability of the domestic market.

Exports of diesel, marine fuel, and gas oil will no longer be subject to restrictions.

The statement stated that some fuel exports would still be carried out under intergovernmental agreements, and as humanitarian aid.

The government announced that it had also adopted a temporary measure until November 1, to ensure that the farmers who are currently in harvest season, receive the fuel they require.
