Danos Awarded Major Permian Contract

Danos has been awarded a significant contract across multiple services lines with a Texas-based, independent exploration and production company. The project will leverage Danos’ Amelia Integrated Services Complex to fabricate piping and structural components which will then be shipped to the installation site in Midland, Texas, for assembly and construction of a central tank battery.“With this project, we have an opportunity to provide a turnkey solution for a valued customer,” said owner Eric Danos.

New Drill Ship Equipped with AHC Drilling Platform

Newly launched multipurpose drill ship FREJA integrates a high-performance active heave compensated drilling platform manufactured by MacArtney. The drilling setup on board the vessel has been designed to provide enhanced drilling conditions even in rough seas. A customized, motion-compensated working platform of 10 times seven meters is situated amidships. This means that the working deck remains stationary while the vessel follows the movements of the waves. The platform design includes a roll function compensating for the vessel rolls by +/- 7 degrees.

UXO Removed from German Offshore Wind Farm

James Fisher Subsea (JF Subsea), part of James Fisher and Sons plc, provided expertise for a project to locate, identify and dispose of deep-sea unexploded ordnance (UXO) at Nordergründe offshore wind farm located 16 kilometers off the North Sea coast of Germany. Offshore wind farm development and management specialists wpd offshore solutions approached JF Subsea to use its excavation techniques to survey the precarious area and remove all unexploded munitions. Mammoet Moves Longest Turbine Blade

Mammoet Wind, the turnkey solution provider for the wind energy industry, has successfully transported the world’s longest wind turbine blade from LM Wind Power’s pilot plant in Lunderskov to the Blaest Test Center in Aalborg. Being the longest blade in the world, no transport equipment has been previously planned for such scale, so LM Wind Power needed a specialist transport company to carry out this unique operation. The blade measures 88.4 meters in length, with a height of 4.47 meters when loaded on the truck.

Two High-tech SSCVs Ordered in China

Holding OOS International Group B.V. confirms it has signed a fixed contract for the engineering and construction of two new build Semi-Submersible Crane Vessels (SSCV) with China Merchant Industry Holdings, a fully owned subsidiary of the China Merchant Group. “OOS took a quantum leap within the oil and gas/wind Industry,” said Léon Overdulve, Founder and owner of Holding OOS International Group B.V. OOS will equip its two new SSCVs named OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren with two heavy lift cranes, with a total dual lifting capacity of 4,400T per vessel.
