Officials say that Iraq has increased the crude oil production from its southern oilfields to 2.1 million barrels per day.
Two Iraqi oil officials said on Tuesday that the country has increased its output from the'southern oilfields' to around 2.1 million barrels per day. This is because more tankers are lining up at the Gulf export terminals of the country.
Officials said that the increase in production was mainly due to the Rumaila oilfield. The output has reached a staggering 1.1 million barrels per day.
Officials said that the Zubair oilfield's output has increased by about 120,000 barrels per day, to approximately?320,000 bpd.
The Iraqi Oil Ministry said that the output of southern fields is expected to reach 3 million bpd in one to two months.
The officials reported that more?tankers are lining up to load Iraqi oil at Iraq's Gulf terminals after U.S. and Iran talks eased concerns about shipping through the?Strait Of Hormuz.
Iraq has suffered a steep decline in oil revenues, as have other Gulf oil producers. This is due to disruptions of regional oil flows, shipping, and restrictions on?traffic via Hormuz, all linked to the U.S.Iran conflict.
