Officials say that five people were killed in a Russian attack on Ukraine's Naftogaz Gas Production Facilities

?A Russian missile and drone attack overnight on gas 'production facilities' in Poltava, Poltava, and Kharkiv, Ukraine, killed five people including two rescue workers and cut off gas to thousands of homes, Ukrainian officials announced on Tuesday. Serhiy Koreteskyi, CEO at Ukraine's Naftogaz state energy company, said that "Gas?production facilities in the Poltava?and Kharkiv _regions _came under fire".

Koretskyi stated that three employees of the company and two rescuers from the?State Emergency Service were killed, while 37 other people were injured.

"We have suffered significant damages and production losses." He said that the attack involved both UAVs and ballistics missiles.

Ukraine's airforce?said Russia launched?11 missiles ballistic and 164 drones against the country on Monday at 6 pm (1500 GMT). It said that one missile and 149 of the drones had been shot down or neutralised. However, eight missiles, and fourteen drones, struck 14 different locations.

Regional governor Vitalii Diakivnych?on Telegram said that two sites in central Poltava District had been reported to have direct hits?and fallen debris.

He said that the attack "cut off gas supply" to almost 3,500 customers.

Interior Minister Ihor klymenko stated that the two rescue workers died in a'repeated missile attack' after emergency services had arrived to smother a massive fire caused by an attack on a gas production facility earlier in the region.

The?rescue workers who were injured include 23 people.

He said, "These are deliberate assaults on those who save life," on Telegram.
