Bolivia's anticorruption police and 'public prosecutor's' office raided YPFB's offices in 'the 'cities of La Paz' and 'Santa Cruz' on Friday as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities with the purchase of fuel.

Witnesses confirmed the raid to local media.

The investigation was launched in response to complaints made by members of Congress, including Vice President Edmand Lara. They alleged that the cost of oil procurement had increased compared with previous administrations.

YPFB didn't immediately respond to a comment request. The probe is looking into contracts and oil purchases made by Trafigura, a global commodity trading firm. Bolivian officials and Trifugra have been in a spat about fuel smuggling. The government has halted the company's contracts since early April. Trifugra rejected this move.

The public prosecutor has stated that the investigation is progressing, even though no suspects are yet identified.

Bolivia's government is trying to stabilize the public finances following a turbulent economy.

Claudia Cronenbold resigned from her position as YPFB's president on Wednesday. She stated that the?company needed a long-term restructure.

Sebastian Daroca, the YPFB interim president, was appointed by the?Bolivian Government on Thursday.
