Nordex, a German wind turbine manufacturer, reports a strong quarter-end profit thanks to European demand

Nordex, an onshore wind turbine manufacturer, reported Monday better-than expected core?earnings in the 'first quarter of 2026. It cited continued demand in its key markets.

The German company reported earnings before interest taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), of 131 millions euros ($154) compared to a consensus estimate of 112million euros provided by the company and an?79.6million euro result from a year ago. In Europe, 90% of the installed wind capacity was generated by onshore wind last year. Nordex is in competition with Vestas, Siemens Energy and other companies. According to an analysis by Mordor Intelligence, the three companies will receive around two thirds of all turbine orders placed in Europe for 2025. Mid-April, the company reported that it had received 1.87 GW of orders in its first quarter. Nordex CEO Jose Luis Blanco stated that "the continued demand in our key markets and the EBITDA margin of more than 8% in the first quarter confirms that we are on target to meet?our 2026 guidance."

Nordex reported sales for the first quarter of the year at 1.59 billion euro. It also said that it had experienced temporary delays in a Turkish supplier factory during the 'quarter.

The company's biggest markets are Germany, Turkey, and Sweden. During the first quarter, 85% of Nordex's turbines were installed in Europe.
