Malaysia's Petronas reports a decline in profit and revenue for the third consecutive year 2025
Petroliam Nasional Bhd (or?Petronas? ) is the state-owned energy company in Malaysia.
Petronas has reported a profit of $45.4 billion (US$11.7 billion) after taxes in 2025. This is down from $55.1 billion in 2024.
* Revenues fell from 320 billion to 266.1 billion ringgit by 2024.
* Chief Executive Officer Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz stated that the company's performance?was in line with peers of similar industry, and geopolitical headwinds are expected to continue moving forward.
Tengku Taufik stated that the firm will focus on growing new businesses, managing emissions across its value chain and strengthening its hydrocarbons core portfolio.
* Capital investment fell to 41.6 billion ringgit by 2025, from 54.2 billion?ringgit?in 2024.
Petronas upstream saw its post-tax profits drop to?26,2 billion ringgit by?2025.
* The company's downstream segment posted a loss of 1.9 billion Ringgit after tax, while its gas and maritime businesses saw a profit increase to 20.9 billion Ringgit.
