The government reported that the average crude oil production in Guyana, a country rich in oil, fell to 664,000 barrels a day (bpd), down from 667,000 the month before.

Guyana, where the entire oil and gas production is controlled by Exxon Mobil, a U.S.-based major, since it began offshore production in 2019 expects to reach 900,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity by the end of this year, once a new floating output facility starts operations.

The figures show that in June production at Liza 2 increased, but not enough to compensate for a decline at Liza 1.

The oil production of South America was 639,000 barrels per day (bpd) in the first six months of this year. This is higher than the 623,000 barrels per day of the same period of last year.

Guyana's government reported separately $191 million in income from oil sales last year. This brings the total revenue from sales and royalties for the first half of this year to $1.22 Billion.

A report by Guyana's Central Bank said that the Exxon-led Group, which includes China's CNOOC, and Chevron following its acquisition of U.S. oil producer Hess had recovered a combined total of 35,9 billion dollars in expenses up to the end of the 1st quarter.

In recent years, two audits of Exxon's consortium expenses were completed. Now the parties are discussing how to reconcile their differences over figures following the arbitration of one dispute.
