OPAP Greece posts record revenue in 2025, but profits dip on higher costs
OPAP, Greece's gaming operator, reported a -0.5% decline in 2025 net profit despite achieving a record gross gaming revenue (GGR) as a result of?higher operating expenses and?marketing expenses.
* The largest gaming operator in the country said that GGR increased 4.9% over a year ago to 2,41 billion euros ($2.81?billion?in 2025), helped by strong performance online and at retail.
* EBITDA (earnings before taxes, depreciation, and amortization) eased by 0.9% per year to 824.6 millions.
* The net profit for 2025 was 483.4 million euros compared to 485.8 millions?euros one year ago.
* Operating expenses increased 14.7% compared to a year ago, reaching 488.4 millions euros.
Strong demand helped boost online revenues by 16.9% in comparison to a year ago, reaching 350.6 million Euros.
* OPAP stated that its 'business combination with Allwyn' is expected to 'conclude - within the second quarter 2026.
The Athens listed group announced that Allwyn would distribute 0.80 euros per share to OPAP holders after the completion of a business combination. This is in addition to the '1.30 euros per share' already paid out in 2025.
