Golden Pass reports that the first LNG cargo has left Sabine Pass Terminal
Golden Pass LNG is a joint venture of QatarEnergy, Exxon Mobil and U.S. Oil Major Exxon Mobil. It announced on Wednesday that the first cargo?of liquefied gas had departed its new Sabine Pass Terminal in Texas.
The first shipment of LNG was not known at the time. It was reported that the first shipment would be destined for Italy in order to'make up' for the LNG QatarEnergy could not deliver due to the U.S. Israel war against Iran.
In a press release, Alex Savva said that Golden Pass is proud to announce the start of supplying reliable U.S. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to the global markets.
The $10 billion plant began construction seven years ago. The first of three trains, or processing units, is currently operating. These will eventually have a combined annual capacity of 18 million tons.
Golden Pass released a statement saying that Trains 2 and 3, which are still in construction, are expected to be 'online after the stable operation of Train 1'.
