French spot prices rise as wind power production falls

On?Monday the French spot power contract increased, buoyed primarily by falling wind 'power output in Germany.

LSEG data shows that the French baseload day-ahead power was 33.25 euros ($39.23), up 20% on Friday's price for Monday delivery.

The German baseload price for the year ahead was down by 1.5% to 80.75 Euros/MWh, while its equivalent in France was down by 1.4% to?52.60 Euros/MWh.

The benchmark contract on the European carbon markets fell by 2.9%, to 71.65 Euros per metric ton. The far-right National Rally party in France submitted a 'no-confidence motion against the government on Monday after a new law was passed outlining long-term energy goals.
