Data shows that Russian LNG exports increased by 8.6% from January to April.
The preliminary LSEG data on Tuesday showed that Russia's liquefied gas exports grew 8.6% from January to April to 11.4 millions metric tons compared to the same period last year. This was due to the supplies from the Arctic LNG 2 Project, which reached a million tons during the first four month of this year.
U.S. sanctions against Moscow for the Ukraine conflict has slowed Russian LNG exports. This is especially true at the Arctic LNG 2, where operations have been hampered due to a lack of buyers.
Total?Russian LNG exports rose 13.2% in April alone compared to a year earlier, reaching 2.92 million tonnes.
The data also showed that Russian gas exports to Europe from January to April increased by 20.8% on an annual basis to 6.4 millions tons. In April, the number of tons rose from 1.2 to 1.6.
The EU countries gave their final approval in January to ban Russian gas imports until?late-2027.
The total exports of Novatek's Yamal LNG Plant in the period January to April fell by 1.5% on an annual basis?to 6 million tons.
