Bloom Energy and Brookfield extend AI infrastructure power partnership by $25 billion

June 30, 2026

Bloom Energy and Brookfield announced on Tuesday that they had expanded their partnership to finance power projects for AI infrastructure. Their funding framework was increased five-fold to $25 billion in order to accelerate the deployment of Bloom Fuel Cells around the world.

Bloom Energy shares surged by 12% during extended trading.

Brookfield had in October agreed to invest as much as $5 billion in Bloom's technology for fuel cells to power data centres, "as companies sought cleaner energy to meet AI boom needs."

Data center operators are turning to nuclear, renewables, and fuel cells in order to meet the soaring energy needs of AI and cloud computing. This is fueling billions of dollars worth of new infrastructure.

RBC Capital Markets analysts wrote that they believed the $25 billion was larger than expected. They added that the fivefold increase highlights the growing demand for and adoption of Bloom's Fuel Cells to meet the power needs of AI data centers.

Bloom Energy's fuel cell technology has been deployed in?datacenters through partnerships with American Electric Power, Equinix, and Oracle.

The company stated that the expanded partnership is a part of Brookfield’s?dedicated AI Infrastructure Fund?, which was launched in November 2025 with a goal to deploy $100 billion.
