After a resilient H1, Naturgy Spain sees a higher core profit in this year
Spanish power and gas?utility Naturgy announced on Wednesday that it expected its core profit for the full year to exceed EUR5.5 billion ($6.27?billion), as a result of a?growth? in regulated distribution networks, which helped offset pressures in some parts of their energy markets business.
The company, who last year reported core profits?of EUR5.33billion, also said that it expected this year's?net?income to exceed EUR2.1billion and a net -debt at year end of around EUR13billion.
Naturgy's first-half net profit was EUR1.22 billion, up 5.9% on the previous year. Earnings?before taxes, depreciation, and amortisation? (EBITDA?) rose by 4.5%, to EUR2.98billion.
Naturgy reported that a 13.2% increase in distribution network EBITDA in Spain was aided by higher regulated compensation in Spanish electricity distribution and tariff updates in Latin America.
The core profit for the energy markets business dropped 2.4%, to EUR1,49 billion, as lower Spanish supply margins, and negative mark-to market effects on Australian power purchase agreements, offset higher thermal generation in Spain.
Naturgy announced that it would pay the first interim dividend of EUR0.6 per share in cash to shareholders on July 29, 2026.
