Inpasa, a corn ethanol producer, has a new advisory board that will help the company pursue growth strategies. This could include international expansion. The first member of this board, Jose Olympio Pereira, said on Wednesday.
Inpasa, which has plants both in Paraguay & Brazil, has been expanding rapidly.
Pereira, the former CEO of Banco J. Safra in Brazil (the investment banking arm of the?Safra Group), has "always" been a fan. He cited the company's rapid rise from "zero", to revenue of nearly 23 billion reais ($4.4billion) and profit of near 5 billion reais by 2025.
Pereira stated that the role of the new advisory board is to evaluate future growth options.
He said that the board's role is to help the company consider its future strategic options.
Pereira said that international expansion could be a growth opportunity. He sees his role in keeping in touch with investors, increasing the company's visibility in international capital markets and contributing to Inpasa’s institutional relationships.
He said that the board would help the company to consider "what else can be done", "where else it can grow", and even whether it should expand internationally.
Inpasa Chairman and founder Jose Odvar Lopes welcomed Pereira on Tuesday in a press release, saying that the advisory council?represented a milestone?in maturity of the company.
Inpasa has two plants in Paraguay, five in Brazil and three more under construction.
