Russia's exports of LNG for January-August are up 13.7% on an annual basis

The Arctic LNG 2 project has contributed to a 13.7% increase in Russia's liquefied gas exports in the first eight-month period of 2026.

In the first eight month of this year, the same data revealed that the Arctic LNG 2 Project had supplied 2.8 million tons.

Total Russian LNG exports in?August rose by 29% on an annual basis to 2.58 millions?tons.

Data also revealed that Russian LNG exports to Europe in the period January-August grew 10.7% on an annual basis to 10.3 millions tons. In August, the exports fell to 0.5 million tonnes from 0.6 millions tons a year ago.

In January, the European Union countries gave their final approval for a ban on Russian gas imports by late 2027.

Data showed that the total 'exports' from the Yamal LNG plant of?Novatek in the period January to August were?at 12,0 million tons. This is the same as a year ago.

Sakhalin-2 (controlled by Gazprom) exported 6.2 millions tons?in the first 8?months?of the year, down from the 6.5 million tonnage in the same period of last year.
