The Norwegian defence and technology company Kongsberg Group announced on Wednesday that its order intake had more than doubled during the first quarter. This was primarily due to demand for weapon stations and anti-drone systems.

Orders jumped 112% to 26.54 billion Norwegian crowns (2.88 billion dollars) during the quarter ended March 31. The biggest contract during the period was an 16 billion crown deal to supply anti-unmanned aerial systems to Poland.

Kongsberg said it expected 2026 revenue to surpass last year's level, after reporting revenues of 32.75 bn crowns in 2025. CEO Eirik lie said that the company is well positioned for growth. He cited strong demand in all areas of the business, including higher defence spending and NATO readiness as well as a growing interest in "counter-drone" systems due to the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine.

In a 'global environment characterized by conflict - and rising geopolitical tensions-, Kongsberg has never played a more critical role in ensuring the'security' of allied.nations," Lie stated in a press release.
