October 13, 2025

The chief of Exxon Mobil's South American subsidiary said that oil production in Guyana by the consortium led by Exxon Mobil has increased to 770,000 barrels a day (bpd). This is after the launch of the fourth floating output facility. According to government and consortium data, the average production of The Exxon Group, which controls all the crude and gas in Guyana was 685,000 barrels per day (bpd) in August, and 740,000 in September. It is the largest operation in the portfolio of the U.S. Energy Major. Since it began crude production in 2019, it has increased offshore output and exported rapidly. The fourth facility will be fully operational in the near future, and it hopes to reach 900,000. bpd.

Alistair Routledge told reporters at a press briefing that Exxon anticipates starting up its five and six projects in Guyana, Uaru, and Whiptail. Both have already been approved by the government. The company is also focusing on the completion of an environmental impact analysis for its eighth project, Longtail. It hopes to have all the permits approved for a start in 2030 by the end next year.

Routledge said that Longtail would be the consortium's largest facility for gas handling in Guyana and its first project to produce natural gas without any associated gas.

Hammerhead, the seventh project of the consortium, will be launched in 2029. 2028 is the only year that the group won't launch a new project. The company said that oil and gas production will increase each year. (Reporting and writing by Kemol King, Marianna Pararaga; editing by David Gregorio).
