Venture Global raises $3 Billion for CP2 Louisiana LNG Plant

Venture Global announced on Thursday that it had raised $3 billion to finance the construction of the CP2 LNG Plant in Louisiana. This would be the biggest liquefied gas plant in America. Venture Global, the U.S. second largest LNG exporter, has played an important role in making this country the largest exporter worldwide of super-cooled gas. Venture Global stated that the money raised would be used to pay for construction of the CP2 LNG facility. This facility will have a capacity of 28 million tonnes per year.

Woodside Energy, Australia signs LNG deal with BP to supply Louisiana project

Woodside Energy, a major Australian oil and natural gas company, announced on Wednesday that it had signed a deal with BP under which the British energy company would supply natural gases to its Louisiana liquefied gas project (LNG). Woodside, in a press release, said that the Louisiana project will buy a maximum of 640 billion cubic foot of gas over a long term basis from the integrated energy giant. However, it did not reveal any financial details.

JERA, Japan's LNG supplier, may look at Alaska, says exec

JERA, Japan’s largest power generator, could consider Alaska as a possible source of liquefied gas (LNG), according to an executive on Monday. Japanese officials will be heading to the United States for another round in tariff negotiations this week. Hammerfest LNG Plant in Norway will be closed for maintenance from July until August

Equinor announced that its Hammerfest LNG Terminal, Europe's biggest liquefied gas export facility, was shut down on Tuesday for planned annual maintenance. According to a regulatory document, the maintenance outage, which began at 0400 GMT at the Hammerfest LNG plant (also known as Melkoeya LNG), is expected to last until 10 July. A spokesperson for Equinor confirmed that the company had begun an extensive maintenance shutdown to ensure robust operation for "at least 3 new years".

LNG Canada begins cooling down of the plant as a final step to producing LNG

Two people have confirmed that LNG Canada is cooling down its Kitimat liquefied gas plant, British Columbia. This is a last step before the company begins producing super-cooled gas. LNG Canada will be the first LNG export facility in Canada. It is expected to export 14 million metric tons per year (MTPA). People said that the company began using refrigerants on Tuesday as part of its cooling process. Tomorrow, it is expected to add natural gas to the plant.

Venture Global reports that it exported 29 cargoes of LNG from Plaquemines plant in Q1

Venture Global, a U.S. developer of liquefied gas in Louisiana, exported 29 cargoes during the first quarter 2025 from its Plaquemines plant. The company announced this in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday. Venture Global announced on Thursday that it expects its Plaquemines LNG Plant in Louisiana project costs to be about $2 billion more than its previous estimate due to inflation and various other factors. In premarket trading, shares of the company dropped 19.2% to $11.50. The LNG producer now expects that the plant will cost between $23.3 and $23.8 billion. Previously, it was expected to be in a price range of $21 to $22 billion. The company paid $19.8 billion as of December 31.

Equinor Norway LNG plant will be off-line March 10-14

According to a Friday regulatory filing, Equinor will shut down its Hammerfest LNG Terminal from March 10 through March 14 to perform "corrective maintenance". This will reduce the daily production capacity from 18.4 millions cubic metres to zero.
