The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday that the total crude oil production in the United States increased slightly in February, as Texas and New Mexico, two of its top producers reversed recent declines by pumping more barrels.

The data revealed that the oil output of the world's largest producer, Saudi Arabia, rose by about 29,000 barrels a day in February.

The data revealed that Texas, the top oil producing state, increased its output by 41,000 barrels per day (bpd) in February, bringing it to 5.62 millions bpd. This was the first increase since October.

New Mexico's output, the state with the second highest oil production, reached a record 2,13 million barrels per day (bpd), about 72,000 more than in January and about 22,000 more than the previous record set in December.

The agency's 914 report on production shows that the gross natural gas production of the Lower 48 U.S. states rose from 116.5 billion cubic feet per days (bcfd), in January to 117.2 bcfd, in February.

This compares to a monthly high of 118.3 billion cubic feet per day in December 2024.

In the top producing states of gas, in February, output rose by 0.1% in Texas to 36.3 bcfd and declined by 1.1% in Pennsylvania to 21.2 bcfd.

This compares to monthly record highs in Texas of 36.5 Bcfd and Pennsylvania of 21.9 Bcfd, both in December 2021. Reporting by Shariq KHan and Scott DiSavino, New York. Editing by Franklin Paul, David Gregorio and Franklin Paul.
