US Crude, Product Stocks Rise Sharply in Latest Week - EIA
Crude inventories rose by 4.1 million barrels in the last week, compared with analysts' expectations for an increase of 1.2 million barrels.
Gasoline stocks rose by 5.0 million barrels, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.6 million-barrel gain.
Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 8.4 million barrels, versus expectations for an 899,000-barrel increase, the EIA data showed.
U.S. crude imports rose last week by 1.8 million barrels per day.
Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub fell by 579,000 barrels, EIA said.
Refinery crude runs rose by 418,000 barrels per day, EIA data showed. Refinery utilization rates rose by 1.6 percentage points.
