The Finance and Administrative Specialist at Georgia Stevedore Association is responsible for overseeing all financial transactions, including but not limited to budgeting, managing of funds, ensuring financial compliance related to non-profit organizations, advising the Board of Directors on financial measures, receiving, recording and reconciling all funds transactions, and preparing monthly and annual reports.

Essential Responsibilities
- Managing and handling all Certificates of Deposit and Deferred Annuities through direct communication with various investment groups.
- Oversee all accounting functions including, but not limited to payroll, payables, receivables, financial statements from member companies, etc.
- Federal and State tax returns covering the Georgia Stevedore Association and all personnel within Georgia Stevedore Association.
- Quarterly phone calls and/or meetings with GSA’s third-party accountant.
- Maintains personnel files, payroll records, and administrator of GSA employee's 401(k).
- Occasional communication with GSA member’s payroll departments and ILA Pension and Welfare Fund office for reporting verification.
- Oversees the drug testing processes and maintains union employee drug suspensions.
- Assists the President and Vice President of GSA, GSA member companies, and GSA’s attorney when needed.
- Serves as a key coordinator between all parties and labor.
- Technology and software integration and data migration.
- Lead positive stakeholder relationships with associated members, labor unions, port authorities, and vendors.
- Responsible for learning, navigating and adhering to all union contracts.
- Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, filing, copying, scanning, and inputting information pertaining to Savannah and Brunswick ILA personnel files.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance or economics preferred, but not required.
- 5 or more years of financial experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting Software.
- Experience with computerized operating systems.

- Employees are eligible to participate in the company 401K Plan. The GSA will match 100% (one hundred percent) of employee’s elective deferral up to 8% of their salary. There will be no matching monies on contributions over 8%.
- A group insurance booklet/certificate and summary plan descriptions are given each employee upon employment with the GSA.
Performance and Compensation
- Managerial Personnel are constantly evaluating the performances of office staff.
- Annually the President will make recommendations to the Administration Board regarding salary increases and Bonus. All final determinations regarding salaries are made by the Administration Board.
- Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
